A few weeks ago, there were some random break-ins down the street from my home. This worries me since I have a wife and five children that I need to protect. This has never been an issue before, so I am a little thrown off. We live in the kind of neighborhood where people rarely lock doors, now it is as if we are being forced to keep our homes super secure. I know this is the reality for people all over the place, but it is a bit hard for me to adjust to the fact that my neighborhood has turned into this. I am trying to decide what action I should take in response to all of this. My wife says that she thinks we need to get a couple of dogs, but one of my daughters is petrified of them, so I am not sure that is the best solution for us. I believe that we should install an alarm system, but the wife is worried about the expense. We will have to do our best to figure something out so I family will not be left in a vulnerable position.
